Historical and Genealogical Research
The first and best place to visit if you are looking for links is Cyndi's List. With over over 330,000 absolutely free links for genealogists and historians, Cyndi provides you with the tools to find the information you seek. You can browse through her categories or just enter a search term in the search box.
There is a tremendous amount of source material now available on the internet, but it is only the tip of the iceberg. You will probably have to make a trip to the courthouse or town clerk's office to obtain some of your documents. Much of the information that has been put on the internet is behind a subscription wall. If you do not want to pay to access services like Ancestry.com and AmericanAncestors.org, you can always visit your local library and ask if they are subscribers.
